Start your week with some inspiration from iPEC!
I’ll bet very few of you knew that the name of the product Formula 409 was derived from the number of attempts to get it to work correctly. That’s right, it was the 409th attempt!
People who are the most successful and, therefore, the most fulfilled, are those who passionately approach everything they do in life. The rewards are not just financial, but more about a feeling of purpose. This feeling of purpose is one of our greatest available gifts in this world.
This week, no matter what you are doing, do it with as much passion as you can muster, and who knows what you might accomplish? Perhaps we’ll be seeing from one of you Formula 410!

Start your week with some inspiration from iPEC!
Many people believe that being in balance means having everything in their lives equally proportioned – with equal attention. This belief is not only unrealistic, but it leads to unhappiness. Balance is like a Lava Lamp. Your energy flows to whatever the priority is in a moment, day, week, or even longer. Later, it flows to other areas.
This week, instead of being down about life’s seeming unfairness and your inability to live as purposefully as possible, remember that we live in a state of slow balance… relax, and go with the flow of Life.

Have you noticed that coaching couples can be — well — more challenging that working with individuals? Or do you just shy away from it because you are not sure how to proceed, especially when things get sticky?
It can be a wild ride. You think you’re trying to solve a particular problem, when all of a sudden the two of them are going at it:
“You never…”
“You always…”
“What about when…”
“Yeah, but remember when you…”
Instead of moving forward, couples often seem more interested in proving who’s right and who started what.
When coaching couples, it’s easy to feel like you’re outnumbered (which you are), that you’re watching a “conversation” that they had a hundred times before, or that you’ve just opened Pandora’s box and don’t know how to get things back on track.
Coaching a couple is more complex than working with an individual. There are many more dynamics at play. You’re trying to serve two clients, who may have differing or even competing agendas, as many couples are caught up in power struggles. Behind the closed doors of their apartment (or in your coaching session) couples show emotions and behavior that don’t show up anywhere else in their lives. The most intense human emotions — anger, hurt, betrayal, fear of abandonment — are commonplace in most couple relationships. Adults, who in every situation seem mature and reasonable, may at any moment engage in name-calling and character assassination, or conversely, passive aggression, silent rage, or going catatonic. People who feel empowered in their careers may show up as completely helpless or victimized in their intimate relationships. The goal-setting, problem-solving and action planning we do in individual coaching can easily be lost in the maelstrom of couples dynamics.
Still want to coach couples?
We hope so. Couples need support. Expectations are impossibly high. We’re supposed to be best friends, great lovers, and effective partners in managing the many complexities and stresses of lives. Many couples end up feeling isolated, dealing alone with their challenges, and not realizing that much of what they experience is commonplace.
Couples coaching is an art that builds upon the same skill set as coaching individuals, but also has nuances all it’s own. We’d love to invite you to check back here over the next couple of weeks as we share with you some of our sure-fire tips for success in couples coaching…
Thanks!

I have been a coach since 1987 when I started my West Orange, NJ home-based business, Human Resources Unlimited. My expertise is in goal achievement, time management process, and selling skills. I also teach meditation and relaxation techniques. I have been practicing meditation regularly—twice a day—for about 40 years, so obviously it is a passion of mine and one that I really enjoy sharing.
The practice of meditation can have positive implications for your effectiveness and success as a coach. It will profoundly develop your body, mind, and emotions. As a coach this will definitely help you throughout the day to be more alive, awake, and alert.
The two greatest pieces of wisdom that I learned from the Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement were:
* Knowledge is Structured in Consciousness
* Established in Being Perform Action
Since December 12, 1970, I have been regularly meditating twice a day. Through meditation, I experience more of my pure self, more of my consciousness, more of my unlimited, unbounded pure field of possibilities. This field of all possibilities is who we are at our core, that which we truly are when we strip away all of the veils and illusions.
On March 8, 2008, I discovered a powerful personal development technique and program called WingMakers (www.wingmakers.com), which has allowed me to continue having a direct experience of contact with our Source. With the addition of the WingMakers materials (the art, music, poetry, novel, philosophy, and cosmology), and their personal development techniques I have experienced:
* Even more energy, and more consistently throughout the day
* A more powerful mind and greater focus
* Profound insights into who we are, why we are here, and awareness of our transition into becoming a more heart-centered species
Here are some links from WingMakers, which I think you will enjoy. The purpose of these two tools is to expand and accelerate your consciousness. I believe that by simply practicing these two techniques you are doing more for yourself and our planet than the greatest of masters.
* The Quantum Pause breathing technique is described on pages 27-29 in this article: http://eventtemples.com/sessions/evt3/downloads/Spiritual%20Activism%20EVT3.pdf
* Here is a link to my free eBook, My Spiritual Adventure. Note: Pages 18-24 are your introduction to WingMakers: http://www.toprovideguidancetomankind.com/book1/Book1-My-Spiritual-Adventure.pdf
* And a preview from To Provide Guidance to Mankind: http://www.toprovideguidancetomankind.com/book2/Book2-To-Provide-Guidance-to-Mankind-Preview.pdf
Thank you for this opportunity to share my passion with you.
